I'd like to send my congratulations to Nigel Llong who has joined the Elite Umpires panel.

Nigel Llong joins elite umpires panel

After what Benny had to put up with, I hope he knows what he's let himself in for. Congrats and good luck.

Yes, congratulations to Nigel and well deserved. Its good to have a Kent player involved in test matches, its just a shame its mostly as an umpire nowadays. Who out of our current players is likely to make it? Coles perhaps as a recent England Lions player or perhaps one of the younger batsmen will really kick on. Other than that our best bet is an injury to Swann.

Where would you go calling before dialing James Tredwells number in the event that Swann was struck down with "spinners finger"?

Yes... but England clearly value Tredwell as the number two offie and if they want a like-for-like replacement then he'll get the nod. (Though Ollie Rayner may put him under pressure, and Azeem Rafiq might be worth keeping an eye on.)

Anyway, well done to Nigel (himself a fine offie, ahem).
